Navratri starts with Ghat sthapana and most people don’t know how to do Ghat puja for 9 days of Navratri.

Therefore, I am telling the ghat puja vidhi in this post. I tried to make it very easy for all devotees.

Things Required for Ghat Puja

1. The Ghat (Kalash)
2. Earthen Lamp
3. Dhoop stick
4. Scent
5. Sweets, cardamom, clove
6. Flower garland and flowers

Step by Step Ghat Puja for nine days of Navratri Puja

1. First of all, light the earthen lamp and show the lamp to ghat.
2. Then offer dhoop to ghat.
3. After that offer scent to the ghat.
4. Now offer flower garland over coconut as shown in video.
5. Finally offer sweets, cloves and cardamom.
6. Give Reverence (regard) to all these deities by saying these words:

6.1 O Lord Vishnu located in mouth of ghat, I am thankful to you very much for coming here. I bow down in your lotus feet.
6.2 O Lord Rudra located in throat of ghat, I am thankful to you very much for your presence. I bow down in your lotus feet.
6.3 O Lord Brahma located at base of ghat, thank you to come and receive puja. I bow down in your lotus feet.
6.4 O Matrigana located in middle of ghat, I remeber and meditate on you. I bow down in your lotus feet.
6.5 All seas, rivers and pilgrimages present in womb of ghat, I bow down in your lotus feet.
6.6 Rig, Yaju, Sam and Atharva veda, thanks for coming. I bow down to you with all of your limbs (anga).
6.7 O mother Gayatri, Savitri, Shanti and Pushti situated in ghat, I also welcome and bow down to you.
6.8 All deities present in ghat, please destroy our all sins and give us peace.

This way on all 9 days, a devotee should do ghat puja first and then he should do Durga puja.
