Dahi Vada recipe (दही वड़ा रेसिपी) is one of the signature dishes of Indian cuisine and probably one of the most eaten Indian chaat across the world.
It is originated from Punjab region of India and also called Dahi Bhalla in Punjabi language.
Dahi Vada recipe is prepared in two parts. One is Vada (dumplings) making. Second is serving the vadas by soaking in Dahi (yogurt) with the toppings of various spices and chutneys.

Ingredients
Ingredients Required To Make Vada :
- 200 gm Black Gram (skinless, soaked overnight)
- 1 tsp Black Salt
- 1 tsp Asafoetida
- As per taste Salt
- 1 fist Cashew Nuts
- 1 fist Raisins
- Oil (to deep fry vada)
Ingredients Required To Serve Dahi Vada :
- 500 gm Yogurt (beaten)
- As per taste Salt
- As per taste Red chili powder
- As per taste Cumin Seeds Powder
- As per taste Coriander chutney
- As per taste Tamarind chutney

Dahi Vada Recipe : Step by Step Instructions
- Grind black gram with small amount of water in morning and make thick paste.
- Heat oil in a karahi to deep fry vada.
- Meanwhile add salt, asafoetida and black salt in black gram paste.
- When oil heated moderately, then spread 1 tsp paste on fingers.
- Put 1 cashew and 1 raisin over it and fold it.
- Deep fry all vadas on medium flame till golden appearance and take out the vadas on an absorbent paper.
- Soak vada in water for 10 minutes before serving. You can also soak vada in buttermilk. It will enhance the taste of your dahi vada.
- After 10 minutes, take out all the vadas and press gently between the palms to drain the excess water.
- Serve your vada with thick and beaten yogurt, salt, red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, coriander chutney and tamarind chutney.
