Hi buddies! Today, I have an Indian vegetarian and healthy recipe for you. It is Lauki Chana Dal Recipe (लौकी चना दाल रेसिपी) which is a popular dish of north India and Gujarat.
The combination of bottle gourd and chana lentil making it a perfect dish for a wholesome lunch or dinner. It is served with chapati, bejad roti, plain paratha and with plain rice. Since it is a fusion dish so you don’t need any vegetable with it. Give complete attention to this lauki chana dal recipe.
Due to its high fiber content lauki helps to cure acidity, indigestion and constipation. Chana dal is good for diabetic patients because it has a low glycemic index and is rich in protein.

- 150 gm Bottle Gourd (chopped in medium size)
- 100 gm Bengal gram (soaked 1 hour)
- 1 Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 Tomato (finely chopped)
- 1 Green chili pepper (finely chopped)
- to taste Salt
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Asafetida
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 300 ml Water
- 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves (fresh and chopped)
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and crackle asafetida and cumin seeds in it.
- Add onion in it and cook until pink.
- Switch off the flame after 3 whistles and let it cool itself.
