We all do Lakshmi Puja on Diwali. We all know well that Sri Suktam is the hymn to please Goddess Lakshmi.

With Sri Suktam we pray goddess Lakshmi to come and give us prosperity and wisdom.

In this post I am telling the very easy havan vidhi by Sri Suktam for Lakshmi puja on Diwali. Also you can do it in daily routine.

Things Required for Sri Suktam Havan

1. Small cow dung cake piece
2. Clarified butter (Ghee)
3. Camphor
4. Water of Ganga river in a glass and in a bowl
5. An earthen lamp
6. Raw rice (unbroken)
7. A small stone

Steps for Sri Suktam Havan for Lakshmi puja on Diwali and daily puja

1. Place all things at the place of fire sacrifice (havan).

2. Heat the cow dung cake on flame.

3. Remove it from flame when it becomes smokeless.

4. Place it on stone.

5. Light the earthen lamp.

6. Pray to mother goddess Lakshmi, “O mother! Please come and recieve offerings.”

7. Now put some ghee (clarified butter) on hot cow dung cake.

8. Now burn camphor on a spoon. Place it on cow dung cake.

9. Now do sacrifice with the verses of Sri Suktam adding “Swaha” at the end of each verse. (See video above to learn Havan vidhi by Sri Suktam).

10. After completing sacrifice pray, “O Goddess Lakshmi! Please recieve these offerings.”

11. Now put some water on both sides of place of sacrifice.

12. Now do Visarjan :

• Take raw rice in right hand.
• Offer rice on place of sacrifice by praying, “O Mother! Recieve these offerings and always bless us with your grace!”
