Achari paneer recipe (अचारी पनीर रेसिपी) is a pickled cheese recipe from Indian cuisine. It is made of paneer (cottage cheese) with pickling spices.
First of all, few Indian pickling spices are crackled in hot oil. Then, onion, ginger and garlic are cooked with these spices. Yogurt is also added to make a thick gravy.
Finally, paneer cubes are mixed in this gravy to make a delicious tangy achari paneer.
It is served hot as a main dish with Indian flat breads, i.e. Roti, Paratha, Naan etc.

Ingredients
Main Ingredients for Achari Paneer Recipe :
- 200 gm Paneer (Indian Cottage Cheese in 1 inch size cubes)
- 2 tsp Ginger (finely chopped)
- 2 tsp Garlic (finely chopped)
- 2 Green chili pepper (Fresh and finely chopped)
- 2 Onion (medium sized, finely chopped)
- 1 tsp Dry mango powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- As per taste Salt
- 1/2 tsp Red chili powder
- 100 gm Yogurt (beaten)
- 2 tsp Lemon Juice (fresh)
Pickling Spices for Achari Paneer Recipe :
- 2 tsp Fennel Seeds
- 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- 2 tsp Onion seeds
- 1 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Chaat masala

Achari Paneer Recipe : Step by Step Instructions
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and crackle all the pickling spices in it.
- Add onion and green chili pepper in it and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
- Now add ginger, garlic, red chili powder and turmeric powder in it.
- Add beaten yogurt in it and stir it continuously for 3 minutes to make thick gravy.
- Achari gravy (pickling gravy) is ready. Add salt in this achari gravy.
- Add paneer in it. Mix it gently and cook it on low flame for 2 minutes.
- Switch off the flame and add dry mango powder in it. Mix it well.
- Delicious and tangy achari paneer is ready.
- Add lemon juice in it and garnish it with coriander leaves at the time of serving.
- Serve it hot with Indian breads like roti, paratha, naan etc.
