Boondi raita recipe is a very popular recipe in North Indian cuisine, especially in Rajasthani cuisine.
It is made by yogurt, plain boondi and few spices. Boondi raita (बूंदी रायता रेसिपी) is served cold or chilled.
It is one of the most eaten raita in North India. If you get an opportunity to visit Rajasthan and become a guest of any Rajasthani family, you must get served boondi raita in your meal. You will also find it in menu of every restaurant, wedding meals and other ceremonial banquets in Rajasthan.
Today I am sharing the same boondi raita recipe with video in this post. It is very easy, quick and instant recipe.
Ingredients
- 250 gm Yogurt
- 100 gm Boondi (plain)
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds Powder
- 1/4 tsp Red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Dried Mint Leaves Powder (Pudina)
- As per taste Salt
- As per required Water

Boondi Raita Recipe : Step by Step Instructions
- First of all, soak boondi for 10 to 15 minutes in water.
- Meanwhile, beat yogurt by mixing water in it to bring it at the consistency of milk.
- Add all the spices in this beaten yogurt and mix it well.
- Squeeze boondi between palms with light pressure to drain the extra water of boondi.
- Add this boondi in yogurt and your delicious boondi raita will ready.
- Serve it cold or chilled.
Recipe Notes
- If you can't wait for 15 minutes to soak boondi in water, then you can soak it in lukewarm water for 5-7 minutes. But best is to soak boondi in plain water for 10-15 minutes.
- You can also use masala boondi in your raita for extra spicy taste.
