In my previous post, you saw the recipe of Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Indian flavors. This time, I’m sharing Indian dal recipe Tidali which is a North Indian mix dal recipe made of 3 lentils – Broken Green Gram with skin, Red Lentil, and Toor Dal.
As dal or lentil is a good source of protein, this recipe is nutritious as well as delicious. It is an easy Indian dal recipe which you can prepare for your lunch or dinner very easily. It gets prepare in very less time and it tastes amazing. This mix dal is served hot with Roti, steamed rice and jeera rice.

Ingredients
Ingredients Required To Make Dal Tidali
50gmGreen Gram(Mung Dal or Broken Green Gram with Skin)
Soak all lentils for 1/2 an hour and drain at the time of cooking.
Put all the ingredients in pressure cooker except the ingredients required for tempering Dal.
Add 300 ml water in it and mix well.
Close the lid of pressure cooker and put the cooker on high flame.
When cooker sounds 1 whistle, reduce the flame to low and let your dal cook for 1 more minute.
Remove pressure cooker from flame and let it cool itself.
Open pressure cooker and take out Dal.
Now, prepare Chaunk for Tidali.
Heat Ghee in a pan on medium flame.
Add chopped garlic in it and cook it till golden brown.
Remove it from flame, add asafoetida and red chili powder in it and immediately pour over Dal to temper your Tidali. You have to do it fast, otherwise garlic, asafoetida and red chili powder should overcook or burn.
Your Tidali is ready. You can garnish it with finely chopped fresh coriander leaves and can serve hot with Roti or Rice.
Recipe Notes
If you can't soak lentils for 1/2 an hour, you have to cook it for approximately 5 minutes in pressure cooker on low flame after 1 whistle.
