The key ingredients of this kesar peda recipe is khoya (mava), milk and saffron (kesar). Using saffron to get a natural color and flavor in food is much better than the use of synthetic colors and essence. Khoya brings a unique taste to the sweets and saffron (kesar) is an ultimate flavoring ingredient.
Mildly sweet in taste because of low quantity of sugar, this sweet is also favorite of those who doesn’t like to eat very sugar loaded sweets. Apart from the festive season and celebrations, this peda recipe works well on fasting days. It can be easily stored for 2-3 days, if refrigerated.

- 250 gm Khoya (also known as Mawa)
- 50 gm Sugar
- 10 threads Saffron
- 2 tbsp Hot Milk
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Pistachio Chips
- 2 tsp Green Cardamom Powder
- 2 tsp Green Cardamom Seeds
- Cook it on medium flame by stirring it continuously till it absorbs entire milk.
- Grease your palms with ghee and make medium sized balls from this mixture.
- Flatten these balls a bit and garnish with pistachio chips and cardamom seeds.
- Delicious dessert is ready in few minutes to spread the sweetness in your family.
