Lauki Muthia recipe is a quick and easy snacks recipe from North Indian cuisine. It is a kind of vegetarian fried cutlet.
Originally it is a Gujrati recipe and now popular across India with many variations. This muthia recipe is made of bottle gourd (lauki in Hindi), rajgira flour, peanut and few spices because of which you can eat it during fasts (vrat).
Ingredients
- 1 Bottle Gourd
- 100 gm Rajgira flour
- 25 gm Peanuts powder
- 25 gm Roasted peanuts
- 2 Green Chili
- 1 cup Coriander Leaves
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- As per taste Rock Salt (Sendha Namak)
- 250 ml Ghee (to fry Muthia)

Lauki Muthia Recipe : Step by Step Instructions
- First of all grate bottle gourd and squeeze it.
- Now mix all the ingredients in a bowl (except Ghee).
- Add a small amount of water in it and make a tight dough.
- Take a handful amount of this mixture and make muthia by pressing it between palm and fingers (as shown in video).
- Now, heat ghee in a karahi and deep fry all muthia on medium flame till golden brown.
- Delicious Lauki Muthia is ready. Serve it hot or at room temperature with coriander chutney and curd.
