Masala Dosa is one of the most popular south Indian recipes all over the world. Its on the menu list of many North Indian specialty restaurants too. Made up of the fermented batter of Rice and Urad Daal along with the stuffing of mashed and masala potatoes, it is an extremely scrumptious and fulfilling dish.
Dosa, a savoury staple food of South India, is considered as a healthy food item as its easy to digest, good source of carbohydrates, rich in proteins and minerals, low in calories and fat. It tastes extremely delicious since it is freshly prepared and served hot.
It is a healthy breakfast option or even great for lunch or dinner meals too. However, Making dosa is a lengthy affair but it is worth a lot.

- 200 gm Rice
- 100 gm Urad Dal
- 50 gm Chana Dal
- 2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- 500 gm Boiled Potatoes
- 2 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
- 15 Curry Leaves
- As per taste Salt
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 2 Green Chilli (Roughly Chopped)
- 3 tbsp Oil
- Sock rice, urad dal, chana dal and fenugreek seeds in water for 7 hour.
- Then after that make its paste by grinding them.
- Leave this paste at hot place for fermentation for 7 hour.
- Heat oil in a karahi.
- Add black mustard seeds, curry leaves, boiled mashed potatoes, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and chopped green chilli to it.
- Cook it on medium flame for 5 minutes.
- Stuffing mixture is ready.
- Add salt as per taste to dosa mixture and mix it well.
- Heat a flat tawa and grease it with oil.
- Pour dosa mixture over it.
- Spread it in a circular motion as shown in the video.
- Pour a small amount of oil over and around the dosa and let it bake on low flame.
- Meanwhile put 2 tsp stuffing mixture over it and spread it and fold your dosa from 2 opposite sides to warp the stuffing.
- Delicious and crispy masala dosa is ready.
- Serve it hot with sambar, coconut chutney and garlic chutney.
- You can use this recipe to make Dosas without the potato filling as well.
