Meethi mathri recipe (मीठी मठरी रेसिपी) is one of the traditional snacks recipes belongs to Rajasthani cuisine. Meethi mathries are crispy, crunchy and sweet snack made during festivals like Holi and Diwali. It can also be served as a biscuit or cookie.
Festivals means many kind of sweets and desserts made at home, this one could be a star of your recipes this time. The best part of this meethi mathri recipe is that you can make it in one go and store it for a long time or you can prepare it in advance for your festivals.
Meethi mathri is made from a dough of maida and cooking oil, shaped round and after deep frying, they are coated with sugar syrup. Read ahead this simple and delicious sweet recipe of crispy meethi mathri and give it a try.
- 200 gm Maida Flour
- 100 gm Sugar
- 50 ml Cooking Oil (to mix in maida flour)
- 200 ml Cooking Oil (to deep fry mathri)
- 2 tbsp Almond chips
- 2 tbsp Pistachio Chips
- Take Maida flour in a bowl. Add 50 ml oil and small amount of water in it.
- Heat 200 ml oil in a Kadahi or fry pan.
- Now make sugar syrup in a separate pan.
- Mix 50 ml water in 100 gm sugar and boil on low flame to make sugar syrup. Stir it continuously.
- When sugar syrup starts thicken but still have pouring consistency then switch off the flame.
- Grease a plate with cooking oil and put Sweet Mathris on it.
- Garnish hot Meethi Mathri with almond and pistachio chips.
- Let your Mathris cool. Then store in dry air tight jar.
- Enjoy the crunchy bites!
