Onion pakoda recipe (प्याज़ के पकौड़े) is one of the very popular Indian fried snacks recipe specially eaten in winter and rainy season across North India. It is a very easy and quick recipe so you can make it in your breakfast or for high tea.
Onion pakoda recipe is a vegan recipe made of onion and gram flour. Salt and red chili powder are also added in it for additional taste.

- 125 gm Gram Flour
- 3 Onion (sliced)
- As per taste Salt
- As per taste Red chili powder
- 200 ml Cooking Oil (for deep frying pakoda)

Onion Pakoda Recipe : Step by Step Instructions
- Sprinkle salt and red chili powder over onion slices as per taste and leave it for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile mix salt and red chili powder as per taste in gram flour.
- Make thick batter of it by adding small amount of water in it. We need pouring consistency of the batter like honey.
- Now heat oil in a karahi.
- When oil heats and starts fuming, then fold or dip onion slices in gram flour batter and deep fry in hot oil.
- Always fry onion pakoda on medium flame, otherwise it will cook and get golden appearance immediately at outer side, but it will remain uncooked from inside.
- Serve it hot with coriander chutney and tomato sauce. It is a wonderful Indian snacks especially for winter and rainy season.
