Today, I’m sharing delicious onion pickle recipe (प्याज़ के अचार की रेसिपी) from Rajasthani cuisine.
This onion pickle is made by medium sized or small sized white onions with some spices specifically used in Indian pickles.
Onion pickle recipe is an easy recipe and gets ready to eat in only 2 days. It is a pure veg recipe which not only enhances the taste of meals but also protects from heat strokes in summer season.
Ingredients
- 500 gm White onion (small size)
- 2 tsp Onion seeds
- 3 tsp Black Mustard Seeds (crushed or ground)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 50 ml Mustard Oil

Onion Pickle Recipe : Step by Step Instructions
- Remove outer layer of onions and wash onions properly.
- Spread washed onions on cotton cloth for 1/2 an hour.
- Slit onions into quarters so that we can stuff onions with spices.
- Mix all the spices in a bowl.
- Stuff onions with this mixture of spices and put all the stuffed onions in a jar.
- Now pour mustard oil in a jar and mix the pickle properly by shaking the jar horizontally and vertically.
- Keep the jar in direct sunlight for 2 days.
- Delicious onion pickle will get ready to eat in 2 days.
- Serve it with Roti, Paratha, Puri or any other Indian bread.
