Palak paneer recipe (पालक पनीर रेसिपी) is a sumptuous North Indian vegetarian recipe. It is fresh spinach leaves curry served with paneer or Indian cottage cheese and generally garnished with low fat cream. It is rich, healthy and nutritious dish, well goes with many Indian breads like naan, tandoori roti, tawa roti and ofcourse with missi roti and even with plain rice or pulav.
Paneer dishes are always rich and so yummy because of which these dishes are on top choice for party preparation as well as regular lunch and dinner.
This palak paneer recipe is prepared in two parts. One is preparing spinach puree, and the next is preparing spinach curry. Read on the step by step cooking method with video of this aromatic recipe so that you can easily make it at home.
- 250 gm Spinach (Fresh leaves)
- 2 Green Chilies (roughly chopped)
- 5 Cloves Garlic
- 1 inch Ginger (roughly chopped)
- 2 Onion (roughly chopped)
- 4 Tomatoes (roughly chopped)
- 4 cups Water for blanching spinach
- 4 cups chilled Water for ice bath
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 tsp Red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
- 250 gm Paneer (cut in cubes of 1/2 inch size)
- 2 tbsp Cream (Low fat)
- Take out blanched spinach leaves from chilled water after 1 minute, drain the excess water and put in grinder to make fine puree.
- Now, make spinach curry.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add spinach puree in hot oil.
- Cover the lid and let it cook on medium flame for 5 minutes. Meanwhile stir it occasionally.
- Let it cook for another 5 minutes on medium or low flame.
- Mouthwatering healthy palak paneer is ready. Serve it hot with any variety of Indian flat breads or rice recipes. Garnish it with low fat cream or ginger julienne.
- This combination of spinach and paneer is not only highly nutritious, but is a splendid blend of taste, texture and flavor!
