Hi friends ! Today, we’ll make paneer kulcha recipe (पनीर कुलचा रेसिपी) which is a popular Indian flat bread recipe from North India, especially Punjab. Kulcha is the second most popular Indian flat bread after naan. They are very famous in Amritsar and Delhi.

As we all know that traditionally, kulchas need to be baked in clay tandoor but that’s hardly an option anyone at home. Hence I am sharing an easy recipe with you to make kulcha indoor in your own kitchen over a stove top or on tawa.

Paneer kulcha can be served with any spicy gravy dish (i.e. chola masala, rajma masala) or if you like to have kulcha on light meal, use simple raita or your favorite pickle.

This is an easy to follow recipe and can be taken in any meal- lunch or dinner, or even as brunch, because it is very filling. Enough of theoretical analysis! Let’s move straight to the recipe of paneer kulcha along with detailed video.

  1. Mix maida flour and baking powder in a bowl.

  2. Add yogurt, salt, sugar and oil in it and knead it to make dough. Add water as per requirement.

  3. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 2 hours to ferment.

  4. Meanwhile, you can prepare stuffing mixture for your paneer kulcha.
  5. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadahi and cook finely chopped onion till golden brown.

  6. Add tomatoes in it and cook on medium flame until tender.

  7. Now add all the ingredients in it including grated paneer and cook it on medium flame for 5 minutes. Stir it occasionally.

  8. Switch off the flame after 5 minutes and let it cool.
  9. Maida dough is fermented in 2 hours. Now make 3 inch sized ball from it.
  10. Flatten it between your palms.
  11. Stuff it with a fist of stuffing mixture and seal it very well.
  12. Now, grease it slightly with oil and roll it gently with the help of rolling pin.
  13. Heat a tava and grease with oil.
  14. Then bake your paneer kulcha from both the sides. You can apply butter, ghee or oil on it.
